The Renaissance Military Society was founded in 1984 as an umbrella organization for the high-fidelity reenactment of the period from 1486 to 1603 in Northern Europe, and a part of the March of St Michael of the Adrian Empire. The RMS presently consists of three core member units: The company of Foote; das Schwartze Fahnlein; and Armstrong's Border Horse, as well as two probationary units (The Academy of St. Adrian and la compagnie de cheveaux leger de M.
